Visitors are usually welcome at Train Mountain. You don't actually get "rides." "Rides" would imply an amusement park which this is not. You will likely be offered a "tour" by a member. This is a club. Anyone with an interest can join, but you don't have to join to come see what is going on. So, if there are members around, especially if they are headed out on a run, you are likely to be offered a free tour. Some tours take 45 minutes, some take 6 hours, so ask your club member what he has in mind. Of course, donations are most welcome! This place is BIG and needs lots of manpower (almost all volunteer) and donations to keep it going. (This is the largest model railroad in the world.) If you check the website, you'll find some work weeks and meet weeks scheduled. These are the busier weeks, so you'll be more likely to get a tour. On other weeks it may be hit or miss in terms of getting a tour! It may be good to call in advance to gauge the level of activity and chances of getting a tour. Even if you don't get a tour, the place is interesting and there is much to walk around and see.
