President Donald Trump took aim at the “Fake News” again Friday and called journalists “sick degenerates” for suggesting that his special envoy Steve Witkoff waited eight to nine hours to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Media reports today claimed that Trump's special representative, Steve Witkoff, waited at least eight hours for a meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin. However, the US president denied the claim,

US President Donald Trump denied reports that his Special Envoy Steve Witkoff was kept waiting for nine hours before meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin. Calling the claims “Fake News”, Trump insisted there was no delay and that talks with Russian officials were productive.

Russia's Vladimir Putin said he agrees in principle with a U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, but that the terms need to be worked out.

President Trump said on Friday he "strongly requested" that Russian President Vladimir Putin "spare the lives" of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, whom he claimed were "surrounded" in the Kursk region in Russia.
