Indian equity indices on Thursday ended on a positive note with Nifty at 23,200 on January 23. At close, the Sensex was up 115.39 points or 0.15 percent at 76,520.38, and the Nifty was up 50 points or 0.

The 30-share index experienced fluctuations before closing at 76,520.38, showing a gain of 115.39 points or 0.15 per cent. During trading, it reached a peak of 76,743.54, up by 338.55 points or 0.44 per cent.

GIFT Nifty futures are indicating a tepid start for the markets. As of around 8:30 AM, GIFT Nifty futures were trading at 23,135, reflecting a minor decline of 0.01%.

The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex climbed 282.35 points to 76,802.73 in early trade. The NSE Nifty went up by 86.7 points to 23,292.05.

Shares of Coforge Ltd. and Persistent Systems Ltd. surged 11% and 12%, respectively on positive third-quarter earnings. Tech sentiments were also buoyed by Trump's push to make the US an AI superpower by having fewer guardrails.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,161 level, a premium of nearly 60 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
