Alex Ovechkin remains locked in on Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goals record, and Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery revealed his load-management plans for the remainder of the season. Carbery made clear before Tuesday's game that Ovechkin won’t be sitting out as long as that chase continues.

Ovechkin isn't new to breaking records, he currently tied for most game-winning goals with Jaromir Jagr. Additionally, Ovechkin became the 60th player to record 700 career assists this season, a record also held only by Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Jagr, Marcel Dionne and Phil Esposito.
