2024年11月24日 · Just like the front wheel only having one point of connection to the bike (the fork's steerer/crown) the handle bars have only one point of contact (the stem's clamp), so after removing and reinstalling a handle bar that required the stem clamp to be spread open a lot one should monitor that stem's clamp to insure no cracking is at play. 2016年3月14日 · There are basically two systems for handlebars. First the old tried and true quill system where you loosen the top bolt and raise the stem to your desired height while being careful not to raise it higher than the max line on the stem.

2012年5月19日 · Not sure what my sister in law has, but curious what it's worth. It's a Montgomery Ward 10 speed bike in decent condition. Tires may be dry rotted, but paint and seats look good. I see two numbers on handle bar stem, 80333 and 30162. Any ideas what we have and if it's worth anything? Picture attached Jason

I didn't even tape the clamp in place, I wrapped it in place. :) So yes, the levers sit on top of the wrap. I had to double back and redo a couple of times at the levers, it was quite tricky to negotiate both the clamp and the brake cable's entry into the handlebar.
