2013年9月17日 · 223 fmj is designed to wound and disable, not kill, men. As a method to remove two men from combat. So why would one use such a round by choice on deer, particularily large northern deer? A good round for night dogs and larger varmint. It certainly has the ability to kill, but not optimun.

2024年12月28日 · There are a lot of good deer bullets for the .223. The fact that you can get bullets that are not necessarily good deer bullets that will work in the .223 doesn't really matter. It's not like you're just going to reach in a grab bag and get some randomly selected bullet. If you're going to use a .223 for deer, you get a good deer bullet.

2025年1月8日 · Both are going to kill the deer if hit in the right spot, but the blood trail on a 30 cal entrance and almost 60 cal exit is going to be significantly different than a 22 cal entrance with a 40 cal exit or no exit, fatty deer will make that difference even more obvious. The 22LR has killed way more deer than people want to admit and still does.

2025年1月2日 · It's a meat wrecker with soft bullets. I know alot of you like to see lots of damage and don't give a shyt about anything but antlers but I want meat and can live without it. It don't kill deer one bit deader than a .30-30 and some of us can actually hunt and have no need to shoot deer from 500 yards.

2024年12月30日 · I've killed many many many deer with a 223, along with a 222 and 22-250. All loaded with 53 &55 GR Barnes bullets. I have zero problems what so ever with killing deer with a 223. Hell I killed a deer with my 17 Remington on snow several years ago. It didn't make it 60 yards before it piled up.
