2012年7月5日 · Ive been searching around and theres a member of this forum ed i believe almost done with a m6 swap, havent found his build thread though. Is this a pretty straight forward swap? i don't want to cut anything (firewall) and am open to fabicating headers, engine mounts ect. or if there are engine mounts out there that would be awesome.

2009年7月7日 · But from what I have heard, the M30 and M62 are similar in weights. Not sure of any who have done the swap into a 6er, but the M62 is a tall and wide engine. In fact, it is the largest (physical dimension wise) V8 gas engine I have ever seen -at the same time being among the lowest displacement.

2011年7月15日 · Since the e24 wasn't designed for a v8 arrangement, it will be even more difficult to get the driver-side exhaust manifolds around the steering box and system. All of those things, and the fact that BMW V8s aren't stellar (they actually kinda suck) make the M60 swap not super practical. It'll be expensive and not very reliable.

2009年5月13日 · Actually I think the later E24 sump will clear the E12 subframe but I haven't tried it so I can't be sure.... I think the E34 sump is 'nfg Virgil' but again i've not offered it up.... The cylinder heads from early M30, M90 and late M30 will all swap but the water passages are slightly different as is the bore size between the M90 and other 3.5 ...

2009年9月30日 · Some would say that BMW + Turbo doesn't sound right (2002 Turbo and N54 aside). The turbo's non-linear power delivery can be at odds with BMW's philosophy of giving as much direct, preditable control over the car as possible. When you look at it from that angle, the naturally-aspirated V8 is the next logical step up from the I6.
