Last 3 lines stated that "Collimated light is sometimes said to be focused at infinity.Thus as the distance from a point source increases, the spherical wavefronts become flatter and closer to plane waves, which are perfectly collimated."
What is the best way to collimate light emitted by a LED?
The area I need to cure is $3$" ($7.5~\rm nm$) by $3$". ( although the light beam can be bigger then this area and of any shape) so long as it's collimated and as efficient and low cost as possible. I want to get at least $3$ watts of light power over that area and it has to have light everywhere and ideally as evenly distributed as possible. Ouff!

The lens on the left is the one you have been talking about. The blue rays in the center come from the center point of the image.
