Herbie Husker is the oldest active mascot of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Herbie first appeared on the cover of a football media guide in 1974 and became the school's first official mascot in 1977.

Herbie is the longest running mascot in Nebraska history. Since 1977 many students have suited up as Herbie, and are urged to keep their identity a secret through graduation day, preserving the magic for all the Husker fans.

2024年8月26日 · Herbie Husker was created by Bill Goggins, a local artist, and was depicted as a farmer wearing overalls wearing an ear of corn on his head like a hat. The initial version was not a physical mascot but appeared on department stationary and promotional materials.

Lil' Red is one of two official mascots of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's athletic programs. Though Lil' Red's initial intent was to represent the school's volleyball team, he can now be seen on the Memorial Stadium sideline at Nebraska football games, as well as Pinnacle Bank Arena during Nebraska basketball games.
