Welcome to the City of Los Angeles’ new Zoning Code (Chapter 1A of the Los Angeles Municipal Code). The new Zoning Code will be applied to individual properties through the update of the City's community plans, and as of January 27th 2025, will be effective in Downtown Los Angeles.
This Zoning Code (Chapter 1A) of the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) serves as the new Zoning Code, a comprehensive update of the City's zoning system. The new Zoning Code will be applied incrementally on a geographic basis through the update of the City's Community Plans.
General zoning information regarding zone, height district, lot size, ordinances, easements, etc. and copies of the zoning map for a requested property are available for the public by visiting the sites below or any of our LADBS district offices.
