Nsukka is an agricultural-trade centre for the yams, cassava (manioc), corn (maize), taro, pigeon peas, and palm oil and kernels produced by the local Igbo (Ibo) people. Weaving is a traditional local craft. Coal deposits have been discovered east of Nsukka around Obolo, a town on the main Onitsha-Makurdi road. [3]

The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal and public research university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded in 1955 by Nnamdi Azikiwe [5][6][7] who was the Governor General of Nigeria between 1960 and 1963, [8] and first President of Nigeria between 1963 and 1966. [9] .

Nsukka shares boundaries with Idioma of the present Benue state in the North-east and Igalla of the present Kogi state in the North and north-west. It is bounded on the east by Ishielu in Abakiliki zone now Ebonyi State and Nike in Enugu zone.

Nsukka is a region located in Enugu State of Southeastern Nigeria that has drawn particular archaeological interest. This area has yielded several examples of iron, metal, clay, and stone production that have contributed to the country’s development over the years.
