In this paper, we outline the first step of this monitoring program: the characteristics of the pink dolphins' sounds, and the design of an automatic detector for their vocalization. Results are given for a small set of recordings obtained manually in multiple surveys performed in the Tipotini river set out in the Ecuadorian Amazonian region.
