
Welcome African elephant Msholo - Zoo Atlanta
2019年7月24日 · Zoo Atlanta welcomes Msholo, an adult male African elephant from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, to the Zambezi Elephant Center at the all-new African Savanna, opening on August 8, 2019. Msholo (mi-SHOW-low), who at 30 years old weighs more than 11,000 pounds, arrived in Atlanta on July 24.

Accompanying him on his almost 46-hour-long road trip to Tennessee were his Oakland Zoo Animal Care Team members and a Zoo Veterinarian.

2021年6月3日 · The North Carolina Zoo currently has seven African elephants: males C’sar, Artie, and now Louie; and females Nekhanda, Rafiki, Tonga, and Batir. This multi-generational herd is managed with two separate habitats on the Watani Grassland, allowing the elephants to socially interact with each other much as they would in the wild.

Two juvenile male African elephants, Tsandzikle (meaning “beloved”) and Inhlonipho (meaning “courteous”) have taken up residence at the San Diego Zoo Elephant Odyssey habitat.
